Estudió Ciencias en la Universidad Austral de Chile. Obtuvo su Magíster en Ciencias, mención Patología, en la Universidad Austral de Chile. Más tarde realizó su Doctorado en la Universidad de Bristol, Inglaterra. Ha realizado estadías de Investigación en Alemania e Inglaterra. Ha obtenido financiamiento de FONDECYT, DID- UACH.

Investigar la influencia del receptor B1 de cininas en el comportamiento de células del sistema inmune innato tales como leucocitos neutrófilos y monocitos humanos. Se evalúan funciones leucocitarias tales como fagocitosis, degranulación, expresión de proteínas de adhesión intercelular, integrinas y quimiotaxis entre otras.
